What is long term hair removal and why there is no such thing as “permanent”?

The term “permanent hair removal” is often misleading, as biologically there is no technology that can permanently eliminate all hair follicles. The reality is that permanent hair removal involves a significant and long-lasting reduction in hair growth – to the point where hair density may not return to its previous level for years.

Laser and IPL hair removal (including the latest Quattrowave diode laser technology ) target hair follicles in the active phase. They are damaged by heat, causing hair growth to slow down, stop, or return as weaker, thinner hairs. However, some hair follicles in the human body are inactive and can be reactivated by hormonal changes (e.g. puberty, pregnancy, menopause, androgenic effects).

According to clinical experience, permanent hairlessness can last for 5-8 years without hormonal factors. And the condition can truly be "permanent" if we use maintenance treatments 1-2 times a year. One of the great advantages of Quattrowave technology is that the 940 nm wavelength laser light also destroys the capillaries that feed the hair follicles, so the chance of regeneration is significantly lower than with traditional diode lasers or IPL. This means that the guest needs less regrowth, fewer treatment cycles and less frequent maintenance.

However, it is important to know that hair growth may return more quickly in men, mainly due to higher testosterone levels, and they may need more maintenance treatments.
